"There’s an American school textbook from the early nineties based around CALVIN & HOBBES that costs, well, THOUSANDS of dollars...
"A shame the textbook can’t(?) be republished..."

"Teaching with Calvin & Hobbes: one of the rarest and most expensive textbooks ever published
"It’s well-known that Bill Watterson didn’t like the idea of licensing his beloved comic book characters from Calvin and Hobbes out for merchandising sales. Over the years this meant that little official Calvin and Hobbes merchandise exists except for some stamps, 2 rare 16-month calendars from ’88-’89 and ’89-’90... and the rare textbook you see in the images in this post.
"The textbook was not written by Bill Watterson but instead he licensed his characters to Linda Holmen and Mary Santella-Johnson so that they could base each lesson in the textbook around his comic strip. The textbook is extremely rare and is known in book collecting circles as one title that carries with it a very high price. Copies available can range between $1250 to $34,000 (or higher!)."

"What makes Calvin and Hobbes even more wonderful is that despite its immense popularity, its creator, Bill Watterson, has refused to license the characters... with the exception of a few calendars back in the day, some stamps a few years ago and apparently a textbook..."
